Bio & Artist Statement

For me photography needs to have an emotional element that pulls me in and that is the part that nature has played throughout my work. The majority of my images come from all manner that is found in the natural world, from wildlife to particulate matter - and everything in between.

Currently, in my photography, I am on an exploratory journey as I move from mainly wildlife and more traditional photography to an abstract world that has no boundaries.

I use multiple exposure, intentional camera movement and in-camera blending processes in combination with my own filters to lay the visual groundwork for landscapes, existing and built.

My intention is to create "in-camera" as much as possible by using these photographic techniques in bringing out the expressive qualities of the captured moment.

I find the colors and the endless pursuit of what light reveals, to provide a wealth of possibilities with unexpected results and endless variables. What is key is finding the emotional component or expressive aspect that breathes life into a moment and that can come from almost anything in this unconstructed visual form.

The very element of surprise keeps me interested in a deeper way; images seem to create their own point of view and my creative impulse is to follow their lead.
